So much has happened since I last wrote, but my little guy has been keeping me busy. The older he gets the more energy he has and the less he wants to nap. However, his early bedtime has allowed me to keep up with all of the premieres that have aired over the past couple of weeks. I have been impressed, underwhelmed, and very disappointed with some of the shows. After this week, I am dropping one of my go to shows because I am that upset about what the writer did. For those who have DVRd your shows, this post is going to be full of spoilers so prepare yourself....
1. Glee- AMAZING!! I love this show. I can never get enough of it. Maybe it's because I secretly wish I could actually sing and unlike some reality show contestants am well aware that I cannot carry a tune. Rachel's new "friend" in NYC is so much more attractive than Finn and I am ready for that relationship to blossom. I must admit I am not a fan of Kurt. Never have been. I liked him a little bit more when he started dating Blaine because I think Blaine is amazing, but now that it seems their relationship is on the rocks, I am over Kurt. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Blake and wonder what his character will be. I am curious to see where the rest of this season goes.
2. Modern Family- The premiere was okay. I definitely laughed. I was also surprised, but it was a little choppy for me. Am I the only one who doesn't like the girl they cast for Lily? I know she is a smaller role on the show, and she's a child, but I think she is a terrible actor. I mean if Full House could find the Olsen twins, can't Modern Family find someone? I was wondering if Gloria and Jay were going to have Mitchell and Cam adopt their child since they lost the one in the hospital, but it seems that is not going to happen based on the first show. Who knows. We will see what happens...
3. Castle- In my opinion, one of the best shows on television. I cannot get enough of this show. Due to the Packer game that ended with the worst call ever, I had to wait until Saturday to catch this gem, but it was worth the wait. Finally, Castle and Beckett are making things happen and I am LOVING it!! This was one of the two shows that got it right on the premiere. They brought the end of last season and the beginning of this season together and tied up lose ends. If you don't watch this show, you should.
4. Scandal- My husband and I started watching this show last year, and I fell in love with it. However, I will say that now when I watch any presidential convention/debate I think to myself "I wonder what is happening behind the scenes when the cameras are off?" Kerry Washington is perfect in this show. This is the second of the two shows that got it right. I am more intrigued than ever to find out what Olivia knows about Quinn and who she is covering up for. Again, if you have not seen this show, you should check it out. Anyone else hooked on it yet?
5. Grey's Anatomy- Shonda has lost a viewer. I am so over this show. First of all, enough of the accidents. It is so unrealistic to think that the same hospital has a hostage situation, and constantly has coworkers getting killed in accidents. I am over it. I loved Lexi and when she was killed off the show, I said to my husband I am done. I thought I would give the first show a chance to pull me back in, but then the death blow for me was killing of Sloan. On top of that, I was left confused and full of questions. All these new characters were introduced and not one of them is intriguing. I officially have given up on this show. Anyone else as disappointed as me??
6. Dancing with the Stars- I realize this is just a reality show, but I love it. I was impressed with all the talent on the show aside from Pamela Anderson who looked lost and made me feel uncomfortable watching her. She was terrible. Also, who is voting for Bristol Palin???? She is not good.
7. Dexter- Okay. I have no spoiler here because I didn't watch the premiere yet, but eventually I will catch up to the current season. My husband and I kept hearing rave reviews about this show, so last year we started watching it. The season 4 finale left me so angry that I boycotted the show until last week. I liked Rita A LOT! I wasn't happy about her being killed off the show so I refused to watch it anymore. Brion kept nagging me about it and finally I gave in. We are currently about 6 episodes into season 5 and again I am getting reeled back in. I really like the show, but I don't handle suspense and killing all that well so I spend a lot of time with my head buried under a blanket or behind a pillow. Regardless of my fears, Dexter I am glad to be back!
I have left out some of the other shows I watched, and I am sure I missed other great ones. Anyone have recommendations?? I tried 666 Park Avenue but sci-fi/horror shows are not for me. I watched it in the middle of the day and was still terrified. Happy watching everyone!

Finale Fever!!
Bachelor Pad 3
There are few times I have been left speechless in life. Last night was one of them. Since Bachelor Pad aired 3 years ago, I wondered when would someone turn on his/her partner and take the 250,000?? Throughout the entire season, I too questioned what Nick was actually doing there. He never seemed to talk and was about as existent as he was during Ashley's season. Everyone in the house seemed to have something to say about him and how he didn't "deserve" the money. Honestly??? Thank you Kalon for pointing out the obvious. No one in that house deserved anything. They went on a group dating show and then played games that involved little to no skill in order to win half a million dollars. The biggest game of all in the house is that of strategy, and in my opinion Nick, Erica, and Chris made the most skilled moves. Had Chris not pulled Erica into the voting room.....Stagliano would have stayed and continued to play mind games with Rachel, Erica would have voted Chris off the show, and Nick never would have become partners with Rachel. Rachel is all peeved that Nick lied to her, but that was part of his game play. He had to convince her to select share so that he could "keep" the money. He doesn't need to apologize; he won the GAME. Personally, I don't think he did anything wrong. Why aren't people more disgusted with Stagliano? What a douche. He says he came on for love and then showed America why women don't trust men. He did what every woman fears used her until he was ready to move onto someone new. What would have happened had he not been voted off? Would he have played her all the way to the finale in order to get her to share the money? My guess is that he absolutely would have. Had I been in the house he would have been my first vote. He already won; why did they keep him there? Also, how did we not get into Ed for playing Jaclyn? There status was never discussed. What woman in her right mind would want either or those two arrogant, selfish, dbags??? Then again, women love to love "bad" guys and think they can change them.
This goes in my top 3 moments for Bachelor/Bachelor Pad. However, I think number one still belongs to Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft. That was the most dramatic rose ceremony ever. 2nd place- Nick playing the game better than everyone and WINNING the 250,000. 3rd place- Chris taking Erica Rose into the voting room. Epic moves.
Hell's Kitchen/Masterchef
I invested into both of these shows so I felt obligated to watch the finales. However, in both cases it was pretty obvious who was going to win. It was Christina's job to lose the entire season. She should have won and did. Had a woman not won after they dominated the men, I would have been shocked. She earned the job and didn't really partake in all the drama in the house/kitchen. Justin put up a valiant effort but I think she really would have had to screw up in order to lose.
Then there's Christine. I am impressed that a blind woman can cook better than I will ever be able to. That being said, it was obvious they wanted her to win. She clearly was very skilled which is why she made it to the end. I just don't think Josh had a chance. Again they were going to choose her unless she really made a huge mistake. I would have been happy either way; I just wish it wouldn't have been so predictable. Was anyone actually surprised that either of these women won?
I did miss the Voice last night but I'm sure Christina had on some ill-fitting ensemble where her breasts were pouring out for the world to see. If not......that would shock me. Finally, September is here and actual shows are back. I am looking forward to Glee, Scandal (if it's coming back), Castle, Last Man Standing (if it's coming back), Grey's (even though they killed off my favorite character), and probably Go On simply because of Matthew Perry. Any other shows I should watch??

What happened to Tuesdays?
During most of the year, Tuesday is by far my favorite day of television. However, what happened to the line up? I watched one show last night, and to fill the time my husband and I watched some DVR material and the Brewers/Cubs game. I used to have to make choices between 90210, Glee (I think this moved to Thursday now based on previews), Biggest Loser, American Idol, Last Man Standing, and others I am sure I am forgetting. Last night, all I had to watch was Masterchef, and it was only an hour show since only five were left. At least some my favorites are still on the show.
In order to watch tv the only way that I love, with fast forwarding, my husband and I watched an episode of Feherty. For those of you who are asking yourselves "What is Feherty?" it's basically the man version of a talk show. Feherty used to be a professional golfer, and he interviews people. From what I have seen so far mostly golfers, but in a review of past episodes I saw that he interviewed Charles Barkley and Don Cheadle (sp?). He is from Ireland, has a thick accent, and his interviews are really entertaining. The last two episodes we watched were with Bubba Watson (Before his Masters win) and Graeme McDonald. My husband started recording the show because I think he felt my smut/garbage tv was filling up our DVR. Little did he know I too would enjoy watching. If you haven't watched it, you should. It makes me feel better that I struggle severely with golf when I hear pros talk about having days when they too struggle. Also, Feherty is a really funny guy who does some crazy stuff. I'm including a picture from the time he interviewed John Daly and had a golf ball teed up and hit from his mouth. You couldn't pay me enough money to do that!

Afterwards, Masterchef it was. SPOILER ALERT...I am so sad Monty is gone. Although I question anyone who names their son Danger, I loved her! I am sad that she got sent home over something as simple as adding heavy cream and cutting a fish wrong. In my opinion, I thought Josh should have been sent packing...again. It is clear that Gordon Ramsey is in love with Josh. I like him too. In fact, I think the best chefs are left in the competition, but I thought he made the weaker dish. He too cut the fish poorly, had 5 instead of 4 servings, added food to his plate, and he had the advantage to choose the dish. Seems to me they made the wrong choice. My favorite chef left is Frank. I am incredibly impressed with Christine and what she can do, but I think Frank is the best all-around chef. Becky also seems to be skilled but she seems a bit full of herself and I don't particularly care for that. Is it just me or does she look like Silver from 90210? Check out their pics and tell me you don't agree...

I mean come on....they are identical twins.
P.S. Who cares that celebrities ate those dishes? Do Oprah, Obama, or Jay-Z have magical taste buds? Pretty sure they don't. I would have been more impressed if say Emeril, Wolfgang, or Morimoto came in and said that was the best dish they ever had. They would know.
Now that Monty is gone, I am pretty convinced it's Christine's competition to lose. They love her and her story and she seems to be a great cook. We'll see.
Fingers crossed that my Tuesdays fill back up because last night was just plain disappointing.

Bachelor Pad 3
I am going to go out on a limb here and sound like Chris Harrison when I say last night's episode was "the most dramatic rose ceremony ever"!! People can hate on Chris all they want, but he pulled the move of the century. When I watched the previews last week, and during the show this week, I kept thinking what is the twist going to be. Never in a million years would I have guessed that Erica Rose would turn the game upside down. For the past two seasons, I have hoped a moment like this would happen to change the game up and break an alliance. FINALLY someone stood up to the power group and took them down. During the first season, "the couples" ruled the house; during the second season, Vienna and Kasey, ruled the house. (By the way if anyone missed the news story about Kasey he is currently serving time in jail for huffing and getting into a fight at a bar....what a winner!) This season Michael was indeed running the show, until Chris came along.
As the show started, Chris was really getting on my last nerve as he complained that his friends turned against him. It's a game show to win money. People lie; get over it. Another favorite part of the show was when Kalon made a jab at Chris about not winning Emily. Ouch. Then as the show progressed perhaps the most awkward moment other than every single second of Jamie's Bachelor/Bachelor Pad history, was when Ed was questioned about any romantic interest in his partner. What woman would ever find this man attractive? I'm not gonna lie I was a little shocked that Ed was making out with Jaclyn and sharing a bed with her, but to flat out diss her in front of everyone instead of having a conversation first. Have some tact. Next week promises to add more fuel to this fire. Then comes Stagliano's plan to get rid of Chris and Erica.
I just can't get over how clutch that move was by Chris. Everyone tried to get him out and instead the head of house goes down. It was amazing. I am sure people are annoyed with Erica Rose but she has always been one of my favorites; I don't even know why. Personally, I wouldn't have hated it if Blakely would have gone home. She is right up there with some of the most irritating personalities. If she were my partner and screaming in my ear during that teacup competition I would have dropped the plates and told her in much more colorful words to "shut it". All in all, last night was everything I hoped it would be and more. Also, these women who fall apart when their partners/love interests get voted off make me sad. You are there to win money. They didn't die. You can see them after the show and date in a normal setting. Get over it. Nick, who rarely utters a word, was right on when he said his new partner is "a widow". Judging by "reality" tv most women are crazy and most men are jerks who use women.
Can't wait to see what happens next week. Do the contestants not remember how to win the game? If I were in the house, I would keep Chris and Ed around. That would increase my chance of getting the money because no one is going to vote for them. I am rooting for Lindsey. If that means Kalon also wins so be it, but I really like her and hope she stays around.

The Next Great Foodtruck Race
If you didn't catch the last two seasons of this show on the Food Network, make sure you check it out. Last night was the first episode of the second season and the cast is compiled of food truck virgins. Their menus range from waffles, southern style seafood, seoul food, pot pies of any kind, italian food, and recipes from nona's kitchen. All of the teams travel around the country selling their food, competing in various challenges that effect their menus, and hope to win the grand prize. Last season there was a grilled cheese truck that I wanted to find in Milwaukee at food truck fridays, but that never happened. I would love for the competition to come to a city near me to taste their creations, but I'm pretty sure the season already ended so I'll have to keep watch for next year. I haven't picked my favorite yet, but an early favorite is Seoul Sausage. They seem to be pretty chill dudes who know what they are doing and were one of two teams to actually profit on the first challenge. My least favorite group is the Barbie Babes from Australia. I think they are banking on thieir looks more than their food and I just don't think they have a chance. Either way, if you like food competitions you should definitely check this out.

The Glee Project
On Tuesday, I found myself deep into a Glee Project marathon on Oxygen. I knew I had missed the season, but I figured they would have a marathon at the end which would enable me to fast forward through commercials. So, starting at 9 am I tuned in to see who the next stars of one of my favorite shows would be. For those of you who haven't ever heard of this show, it's pretty interesting. I love to see how people are cast for the show, and every episode there is a performance video. I never in a million years would have the amount of talent it takes to act, sing, and dance, but I like the idea that average young adults have the opportunity to openly compete with others for a role. This way they shouldn't have any question as to why they weren't chosen, or who could do better.
From the very beginning I LOVED Blake. I thought it was his competition to lose. He looked the part of the "high school quarterback" and next hearthrob. I was a little shocked when Shanna was sent home because I actually really liked her and loved her voice. She reminded me a little of Kelly Clarkson which was ironic when they had her sing one of her songs to stay on the show. Ally grew on me toward the end because of her personality. Her voice reminds me a little of Kristen Chenowerth (sp?) which I don't really care for. Too high pitched for my taste. Then there was Ayline. She had a great voice and could definitely act. I rarely am shocked with the results of reality shows but this one got me. I mean I did pick Blake from the beginning but I felt like his voice wasn't up to par with everyone else's. Also, I thought the two ladies would really add something new to the show because Ally actually is permanently in a wheel chair and Aylin is Muslim. Maybe they get a cameo??? I couldn't believe one of those two didn't win over Blake. I think he is perfect for the show, but I just was a little surprised he won. Anyone else watch?? In the end, I am just excited for the fall and for my "real" shows to start again. Too much reality tv in my life right now.

Bachelor Pad 3
I cannot believe this is the first time I am writing about this show, but needless to say I couldn't avoid it after the happenings of last night. There are times in my life when I get embarrassed by watching something on television. Last night, Jamie and Blakely just gave a bad name to women. I mean those two are an embarrassment. Jamie, I know there are women who fall in love fast but this guy is living in the same house with you and sharing a bed with another girl. Then he takes Sarah on a date instead of you. Where does that convince you that he's a great guy who really treats a woman well??? You thought he was just being nice? You couldn't wait for him to come home to you? HE'S NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND. It was painful to continue to listen to her talk about how great he was non-stop throughout the entire show. How bad did a guy burn you in the past that you are that desperate to pine after Chris?? She makes women look crazy.
Blakely does not help this argument. She is over the top controlling. Just pick a new partner already and stop following Chris around. What is the obsession with this guy? He isn't even that great. He seems like an average looking guy, but he is such a douche. He openly plays on girls emotions on television. How is that working for you in real life? What girl with any self-respect would want to be with this guy? I liked him at the beginning of Emily's season, but toward the end he got possessive and weird. Not a fan.
Also, can we get some more air time for Kalon, Lindsay, Michael, and Rachel?? It's like they aren't even in the house. I know the preview for next week shows them, but usually when someone gets a lot of airtime they are sent packing. I don't want them to leave yet. If all is working out, Chris should hit the road next week.
